A product of the Boston film/arts/music scene of the 1980's, David grew up watching movies and playing guitar in hardcore punk band Sorry and later in indie rock/noise band Volcano Suns.
After attending NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and studying film production, he combined his love of music and film by directing dozens of music videos for bands such as Yo La Tengo, Guided By Voices and The Fall. With Robert Moses, he wrote a "how to" book about low budget music video called, You Stand There.
Relocating to Los Angeles, David worked in non-fiction television. He co-directed Not A Photograph, a feature-length documentary about the reunion of the legendary Mission of Burma. Later he became a Digital Producer at Magical Elves directing producing, shooting and editing web series for reality shows such as Top Chef.
Then at Fullscreen Inc., he directed branded content series and ran their internal promo video department. More recently, David has been tapped by Nickelodeon to create YouTube content and help with their new linear programming.
David continues to direct music videos, promos and branded content and is currently finishing the long-form documentary, Films in the Living Room.
